Sergei Medvedev is an academic specializing in the post-Soviet period, with his work drawing from sociology, geography, and cultural anthropology. He won the prestigious Pushkin Book Prize in 2020 for his book "The Return of the Russian Leviathan," which received acclaim in the United States, the United Kingdom, and France (published as "Les Quatre Guerres de Poutine" by Buchet-Chastel in 2020).
