Béatrice Picon-Vallin

Béatrice Picon-Vallin is an Emeritus Research Director at CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research), affiliated with THALIM (Theory and History of Arts and Literature of Modernity), a renowned research center. She has also served as the director of the Laboratory for Performing Arts (LARAS). Picon-Vallin is a prolific author with a focus on theater and various other arts. Notably, she has written extensively about Meyerhold, particularly in her work Meyerhold, Les Voies de la création théâtrale which spans multiple volumes and has been published by CNRS Editions in 1990, 1999, and 2004. Her work has been translated into several languages, including Italian and Brazilian Portuguese. In addition to her studies on Meyerhold, she has contributed significantly to the understanding of Vsevolod Meyerhold's work through her publication of Écrits sur le théâtre of V. Meyerhold. This collection consists of four volumes and has been published by L’Age d’Homme. Currently, she is working on a new edition of this collection, which will be revised and expanded, and it will be published by Editions Deuxième époque. Béatrice Picon-Vallin's research and literary contributions have had a profound impact on the field of theater studies, especially in the context of Vsevolod Meyerhold's theatrical innovations and the broader exploration of performing arts.
